It was fantastic to be able to join colleague Janet Finch-Saunders MS and Councillor Louise Emery at the impressive Ysgol San Sior in Llandudno, North Wales, this month.
The school was exemplary and brimming with positivity. The entrepreneurship and hands-on experience of learning with numerous animals and outside projects are to be celebrated and shared.
Headmaster Ian Jones had a fantastic vision for the school when he first arrived and has achieved it.
From keeping chickens and being the only UK school to sell their eggs, having bee hives and learning to make honey and then selling it - most notably to The King! - from having animals on the school grounds, from pheasants to geckoes, and class having a ‘business’; here is a school giving the pupils so much.
As Shadow Education Minister, it was also good to talk about the common challenges facing our schools at the moment such as the Welsh Labour budgetary
