I have been campaigning to reopen schools to all pupils and was delighted with the announcement on 9th July that all schools in Wales will reopen to all pupils in September.
I said, "The past few months of lockdown have been really challenging for families and it's vital for young people's mental health that they return to school as soon as possible.
"Many children have missed out on social interaction, education and wellbeing check-ups and by September most pupils will have been off school for almost six months.
"As we continue to grapple with the coronavirus, there remains a risk that there may be localised lockdowns, but I hope that from September every child will be able to continue their education."
