I have been campaigning for an M4 relief road around Newport to bring an end to the daily gridlock of traffic near the Brynglas Tunnels.
I said, "Congestion around Newport is a massive barrier to investment and job creation in South Wales. It encourages businesses to set up in England because key transport links are so important.
"I really don't understand why the Welsh Government won't get on with it and get this relief road built. The Prime Minister has even offered to help the Welsh Government pay for it. Instead they're looking at alternative options and I await those proposals with interest, but anything short of ending the daily gridlock will fail to unlock our economy."
